YORK – The York County Commissioners will have a relatively light agenda when they convene in regular session Tuesday, March 4. They will act on an agreement with Glenwood Telecommunications for use of York County funds in the participation with a broadband expansion project in the rural area of the county. This project will be in the Lushton area. The result will be the availability of high speed internet to currently unserved properties – more than 50.
They will also meet with an individual from Bead Broadband, as another effort to expand broadband in rural areas is soon to begin. As the board of equalization, they will meet with the county assessor regarding tax list corrections. And the commissioners will be discussing zoning and the next steps now that the planning and zoning board has sent the proposed solar field zoning regulations back to the commissioners for consideration. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room which is located on the main floor of the courthouse, next to the clerk’s office.
