YORK – The York County Commissioners had to have a conversation this week about when they will hold their next meeting as the regular schedule would have had them meeting on Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a national holiday and the courthouse is closed that day, with all employees being given this day off.
“My suggestion is to have it at 8:30 a.m., on the Monday before, because of payroll,” said Commissioner Andy Bowman. Commissioner Joe Burgess said Monday would be fine, but he preferred either late afternoon or early evening due to other commitments on his end. “I agree Monday is the day, so they can process payroll,” said Commissioner Daniel Grotz. “I’d say evening is fine.” “We could start at 5 p.m., as our department heads will still be here at that time,” suggested Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier. The commissioners agreed the next meeting will be at 5 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 10. Comments are closed.
