York County Sheriff’s Department receives grant for extra enforcement and educational programs9/24/2024
YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s Department recently applied for and received grant funding through the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office’s Special Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), according to York County Sheriff Sergeant Taylor Samek. “This funding is for selective overtime enforcement and education in the areas of impaired driving, occupant protection, speed, distracted driving, and general traffic enforcement,” Sgt. Samek said. “This funding will allow the sheriff’s office to have additional deputies out conducting traffic enforcement in our communities throughout the year. It also will help with bringing educational programs concerning traffic-related issues to area schools, businesses, and community groups.
“If you are a representative of an area school, business, or community group and would like a presentation from the York County Sheriff's Office on a traffic related issue, feel free to contact us at 402-362-4927.” Comments are closed.
