YORK COUNTY -- The York County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from August 16 to September 1.
During the 2022 Labor Day holiday, there were 490 crash fatalities nationwide. Of those crashes, 39% involved a drunk driver and 25% involved a driver who had a blood alcohol content of almost twice the legal limit. “Our goal is to make sure that everyone makes it to their holiday plans alive,” said Sgt. Taylor Samek. “York County will have extra deputies out looking for impaired drivers on roadways throughout the county. If you are driving in York County and would like to report a reckless or impaired driver, please call 402-362-4927. This overtime enforcement campaign is done in conjunction with funding provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.” Comments are closed.
