YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning about a new scam, happening now, in which callers claim there are active warrants for those receiving the calls. The YSO has “received numerous reports stating an individual claiming to be a York County deputy is calling and alleging they have active warrants for their arrest. The person impersonating a deputy is requesting potential scam victims to call back at a phone number not associated with the YSO. If you have received a similar call, you are encouraged to call the real YSO at 402-362-4927.”
