YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Speeding Prevention Driving Enforcement campaign from July 14-31.
Sgt. Taylor Samek says this campaign was funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. “During this campaign, deputies assigned to the initiative contacted 164 motorists resulting in the following activity: 32 speeding citations, five reckless driving citations, one DUI/alcohol arrest, one DUI/drug arrest, three felony arrests, three minor in possession of alcohol citations, two open container citations and two failure to move over citations. “As always, please remember to watch your speedometer, wear your seatbelt and drive sober,” Sgt.
