York County’s current, standing comprehensive plan can now be found on the county’s website, for public review, as the process of updating it gets underway. The comprehensive plan was last updated in 2015 and while hard copies exist, this online version will be more accessible for everyone to read.
The 89-page document was created 10 years ago and approved by the county board members sitting at that time. It was updated over the course of 11 months, with public meetings and a lot of input from property owners, consultants, residents and county officials. The comprehensive plan is a living document which reflects facts about the county as well as a vision for the county’s future. It is updated every 10 years, so the information within it stays as pertinent as possible. It addresses economic, population and housing analysis and projections; agriculture and the economy; income trends; land use; environmental analysis; county planning and economic development; zoning goals; public facilities and services plans; transportation plans; future land use; and plans for energy sustainability. It can be found at https://www.yorkcounty.ne.gov/uploads/1/4/5/5/145507130/york_county_nebraska_comprehensive_plan.pdf Comments are closed.
