Marriage Application Process
Certified Marriage Licenses
- Proof of identity/age: A current government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.
- Applicants will be requested to provide Social Security numbers.
- Applicants must supply the names of their parents (including mother’s maiden name), and their parent’s birthplaces.
- If applicant(s) has been married previously, the date the previous marriage ended will be requested (Court date or date of death).
- If either applicant is not of legal age (19), a notarized consent form must be signed by the person’s legal guardian giving consent to the marriage of the minor. If either applicant is under 17 years of age, the license cannot be issued in the State of Nebraska.
- In Nebraska, the license application is good for only one year. If the marriage does not take place within that time, couples must complete the license application process again.
Marriage Application Process
- Both parties must be present to complete and sign license
- Fee of $25.00 in cash, check, or credit/debit card. There is a service fee with payments by card.
- The application worksheet may be printed and completed prior to arrival. It’s available at the Clerk’s Office during business hours.
Certified Marriage Licenses
- A Certified Copy may be obtained from the Clerk’s Office for $9.00.
- If a certified copy needs to be mailed, our office requires a written request, as well as a self-addressed envelope, and $10 in order to complete the request.
