Duties of the York County Clerk’s Office
The York County Clerk’s general duties include accounts payable, payroll, human resources, issuing
marriage licenses, and liquor and tobacco licenses. The Clerk is also the secretary to the County Board of
Commissioners, which oversees county operations and adopts the final budget. The Clerk is also
responsible for the Register of Deeds and is the Election Commissioner.

NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that representatives of the following political subdivisions will meet on the 18th day of September, 2024 at 7:00 p.m., at McCool Junction Public School main gym located at 209 South Gragan Ave, McCool Junction Ne 68401 for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the following subdivisions:

McCool Junction Public School, 402-724-2231, property tax requested in the amount of $3,156,566.00

Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the McCool Public School at 402-724-2231 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.

There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in § 77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.
