YORK – Resumes are now being accepted from those living in District 2 in York County who are interested in becoming the county commissioner representing that jurisdiction.
The election results have been determined to be official, in which the majority voted in favor of recalling LeRoy Ott. So that creates a vacancy on the county board. The requirements include that an applicant must be a citizen of the United States, be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. They must reside in District 2 and be a registered voter with no felony convictions. The salary is set per resolution with a full benefit package. Resumes will be accepted through Jan. 9. Then, interviews will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m., before a panel consisting of the county clerk, the county treasurer and the county attorney. Those three county officials will also make the decision as to who will serve in this capacity. YORK COUNTY – The recall effort against Gresham Village Board Chairman Tony Cain has ended, as no petition signatures have been turned in.
YORK COUNTY – York County Commissioner LeRoy Ott and Julie Wellman, the person who filed a petition seeking the recall of Ott, have provided statements regarding the upcoming special election pertaining to this matter.
These are their statements, unedited, exactly as they were presented: YORK COUNTY – Initially, it was thought a recall election regarding the position of LeRoy Ott as a York County Commissioner would be held Nov. 11. However, because that is a holiday (Veterans Day), it cannot be held on that date, according to state statute.
YORK – Gresham Village Board Chairman Tony Cain has issued his formal response to a recall petition effort filed by Daniel Otto of Gresham.
YORK COUNTY – A resident of York County has filed a recall petition against York County Commissioner LeRoy Ott.
