YORK – A meeting of the York County Zoning and Planning Commission has been scheduled, regarding new local regulations pertaining to solar fields.
The York County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of DEPUTY SHERIFF.
YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session next Tuesday, Oct. 31, they will have a relatively light agenda, at least compared to the agendas they’ve had the last few months.
YORK COUNTY - In the past, the Nebraska Department of Revenue only sent notice to homestead exemption applicants if they qualified for an exemption that was less than 100%. Starting this year, the NDR is now sending notice to all applicants of their homestead status. This has led to some confusion, especially since the notice also includes a form to challenge the determination from the department if the applicant doesn’t agree with their findings.
McCOOL JUNCTION – Nearly 200 people attended a meeting this week, during which the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) talked with locals about the entity’s acquisition of K-Junction Solar Project from EDF Renewables and the company’s process in doing its due diligence regarding the construction of a 2,800-acre solar field project near McCool Junction.
YORK COUNTY – Summit Carbon Solutions, a company proposing to create a 2,000-mile carbon capture pipeline which would go through York County, has been dealt roadblocks to its $5.5 billion project as regulatory panels in North Dakota and South Dakota denied their permit applications.
YORK – According to the York County Sheriff’s Department, a man who allegedly instigated a “suicide by cop” scenario is still alive and safe, thanks to responsive action from the YSO and the York Police Department.

YORK COUNTY – The Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) will be hosting a “community conversation” event this week, regarding the solar field project near McCool Junction.
YORK – York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin reported to the commissioners this past week some of the highlights from a recent legislative conference hosted by the Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO).
