YORK – A No True Bill has been returned by a grand jury regarding the death of Justin Christensen while he was being held in the York County Jail, indicating York County was not at fault. 

​YORK -- The storm spotter training which was scheduled for today, Monday, March 25, at the York County Fairgrounds, has been cancelled.

YORK – Rex Heiden is the York County Surveyor, but due to current medical issues, bids were taken this past week from three companies to fulfill physical duties during his recovery.

YORK COUNTY – Very soon, high speed fiber will be installed in a rural area near McCool Junction which will provide internet service to a currently unserved area, mostly in the area of Sacks Lake.

YORK — York County officials hosted the Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO) Central Conference today, Thursday, March 21, at the Holthus Convention Center in York.

YORK COUNTY – Dustin Marvel, representing the Omaha Public Power District, told the York County Commissioners this past week the OPPD board will soon be providing to the county a letter of intent stating their commitment to having a third party operate the proposed K Junction Solar project near McCool.

YORK COUNTY – This week, the York County Commissioners, convened as the board of equalization, considered the many property tax exemptions in the county.

YORK – The York County Commissioners were in session for nearly five hours Tuesday morning, tackling a number of issues – including pushing through to formulate their final draft of solar project zoning regulations which will be presented to the public. 

YORK COUNTY – This next Tuesday, March 19, the York County Commissioners are expected to take action on the proposed solar zoning regulations they want to present to the public. 

McCOOL JUNCTION – Kenley Smith was surprised – along with her fellow students at McCool Junction Public School – Friday morning when she was honored by the York County Sheriff’s Department and Governor Jim Pillen for her heroic efforts last year following a very serious crash involving a McCool school vehicle carrying students and another van.
