​​YORK – Carmen Hinman has spent the last 25 years of her life leading the Hope Crisis Center team, in an effort to protect women and children who have been in abusive situations.

​​YORK – The York County Commissioners had to transfer money this week to some depleted funds, due to unforeseen budget shortfalls, as the county’s fiscal year comes to an end.

​​YORK – With a vote of 3-2, the York County Commissioners turned down the ability to authorize an additional 1% in budget authority.

​YORK – York Library Director Deb Robertson and York City Administrator Sue Crawford have approached the York County Commissioners about using county ARPA (federal COVID relief) funds to financially participate in the creation of a “makerspace” project in the basement of the city auditorium.

YORK – The York County Commissioners are in full support behind a grant application being made by a private company that wants to install fiber optics in the rural area near McCool, to provide high speed internet service. ​

YORK – Every so many years, the county does a “fly-over,” meaning the county is photographed from the air. This becomes public information and also serves as a valuable tool for the assessor’s office to see what structure/property changes are new and which ones are no longer in existence. ​
