The York County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer.

YORK – The levies for the different political subdivisions in the county will be officially set next Tuesday, Oct. 3, when the York County Commissioners meet in regular session. 

YORK – York County Commissioners Daniel Grotz and Woody Ziegler recently took part in a tour of the York Area Solid Waste Agency, with District 24 Senator Jana Hughes. Also joining them were York City Administrator Sue Crawford, York Public Works Director James Paul, York Landfill Manager Tom Mommens and York County Development Corporation Director Lisa Hurley. 

YORK – After two public conversations in recent weeks regarding the creation of a new adult diversion program, the York County Commissioners have postponed the matter for now. 

​YORK – When the courthouse was built, back in the 1980s, some garage bays with overhead doors were installed on the south side. The interesting thing about the architecture is there is a very large overhang which extends to the south, with nothing underneath it – thereby creating wasted space.

YORK – York County Emergency Department and the York County Emergency Communications Center has issued the following notification to local residents: 

YORK – A compensation study, to determine how county employees’ wages and salaries compare with other counties and in the private sector, has been officially approved by the commissioners. 

​YORK COUNTY – After earlier postponing a decision on a conditional special zoning permit, for a second house to be built on a quarter-quarter, the York County Commissioners decided this week to allow Eric Montgomery to build a guest house on his property in rural York County. 

YORK – Three of five York County Commissioners have said no to recommending approval of a special liquor license for a local event. 

YORK – The York County Assessor’s office is reminding York County residents to return their address numbers to the front of their houses, once storm repair is complete.
