YORK COUNTY – The county’s one- and six-year road/bridge program has been approved for 2025.
YORK – York County’s stop sign replacement project is well underway, with about 400 already done.
YORK COUNTY – York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim told the York County Commissioners Tuesday Road M over Interstate 80, “should be reopened by the end of the day.”
This stretch has been closed for months, after a large vehicle hit the structure, on the interstate. That meant the structure had to be replaced. This will be welcome news, especially for farmers, who used that overpass to cross the interstate. However, the overpass on Road W, over the interstate, won’t probably be reopened until May. That structure was also hit by a large vehicle on the interstate and the state has to make major repairs. These repairs are the responsibility of the Nebraska Department of Transportation. YORK – Officials from the City of York and York County have signed off on an interlocal agreement, outlining each entity’s financial role when 25th Street is repaved next year.
YORK COUNTY – York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim told the York County Commissioners this week the County Road W overpass (over Interstate 80) is closed indefinitely as it was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 80.

The York County Highway Department is accepting applications for a full-time Road Crew 1 position. This job requires operating heavy equipment. Wages start at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications plus benefit package (health insurance, wellness program, retirement plan, vacation, holiday & sick leave). Pre-employment background and drug screen required. The position is subject to a veteran's preference. York County is an EOE.
