YORK COUNTY – Townhall meetings continue throughout the county as the update of the county’s comprehensive plan is underway.
YORK – The York County comprehensive plan public process officially kicked off Monday with two townhall meetings – one at the York Senior Center and the other at The Hatchery in Henderson. Then on Tuesday night, another meeting was held at Stone Creek Event Center in McCool Junction.
York County residents will have a series of opportunities to voice their concerns, visions and values during the month of June as townhall meetings are scheduled at a variety of locations, as part of the updating process for the county’s comprehensive plan.
York County is growing, changing and evolving and everyone has a say in how the future looks regarding development, zoning and more. The intent to is to gather ideas, spark dialogue and charge the course for the county’s comprehensive plan. Consultants for the county say, “These gatherings are not just meetings – they are opportunities to make your voice heard and to influence how our county grows, connects and thrives in the years to come. These townhalls are open to everyone – residents, business owners, students, farmers, parents and retirees as every perspective matters.” The following are the dates, times and locations of the townhall meetings, which are being held in a variety of locations throughout the county:
YORK – Conditional use permits have been issued to Dustin Chrisman, operating as Double Barrell Farms, for three locations in York County where he is breeding, hatching and raising pheasants.
YORK – The York County Planning/Zoning Commission will be meeting at 5:30 p.m., on April 30, in the county commissioners’ meeting room.
YORK – Tonight, Monday, April 21, is the final event in a series called “Renewable Energy in Nebraska,” sponsored by Conservation Nebraska.
York County’s current, standing comprehensive plan can now be found on the county’s website, for public review, as the process of updating it gets underway.
YORK COUNTY – The York County Zoning and Planning Commission will be meeting Monday, March 17, at 5:30 p.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room.

YORK – This week, the York County Planning and Zoning Board sent proposed solar regulations back to the York County Commissioners.

YORK – After a very brief meeting this week, the York County Planning and Zoning Committee looks poised to send the currently proposed solar zoning regulations back to the county commissioners.
At the start of the meeting, Chairman Aaron Kavon said, “at our next meeting will have an agenda item to act on the existing regulations before us. At this time, the planning commission will probably send back the proposed regulations that exist, to the county commissioners, and whatever other conditions you guys might want to add.” The other members of the county planning commission agreed, and the matter will be before them again at 5:30 p.m., on Feb. 24, in the commissioners’ meeting room on the main floor of the courthouse. |
