​YORK – In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the York County Fair, the theme of “All American Fun” will be felt all throughout next week as the 2023 fair gets underway.

YORK – York County property owners are now able to pay their property taxes online.

YORK – To be in compliance with LB644 – state legislation that requires pink post cards to be sent and hearings to be held if taxing entities are going to increase their budgets by more than 2% -- the county commissioners agreed to hire the state print shop to create the paper parcels (if they are needed).

YORK – Against Partners made its request for county funds, in this year’s budget, during the commissioners’ recent meeting, while also discussing the projections of more people in the county being over 65 years of age.

YORK – York County’s budget process continues to be underway, which Commissioners Randy Obermier and Daniel Grotz have termed as “quite something, a lot.”

YORK – The York County Commissioners have agreed with the York County Visitors Bureau (YCVB) that the community of McCool Junction should receive a $15,000 visitor improvement grant to be used toward that community’s new splashpad project.

YORK – The York County Jail continues to be beyond capacity, a trend that has been ongoing for three years now.

YORK – York County reconstructed a number of bridges in different locations throughout the county this year. The great news is that all the work is nearly done and all the bridges will be open by harvest.

YORK – Enough homeowner-occupied housing rehabilitation projects have been approved to deplete the county’s ongoing program. That means all the grant funds will be used up.

YORK – The York County Commissioners have passed a resolution to direct the county treasurer to issue tax sale certificates on five properties in the county.
