YORK – The York County Commissioners have given their nod of approval to this year’s one- and six-year road/bridge program. Projects on the one-year plan are intended to be completed in 2024. Projects in the six-year plan are simply placed there “on the shelf” as future projects – not necessarily to be done in six years, but in the future.
York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim told the county board members, during their annual public hearing, how there were six projects listed on the one-year plan:
Those possible ARPA-related projects, which would include work on collector roads, were given priority in the six-year plan. They also discussed how collector roads are identified, with Keim saying those roads are recognized based on higher traffic counts. Projects included on the six-year (future) plan are:
