YORK – The York County Commissioners have postponed an appointment to the county’s planning and zoning board, in order to have a conversation with the applicant after hearing a few constituents’ questions about possible conflict of interest.
YORK – This past week, the York County Commissioners discussed a request for a vehicle exemption filed by York University for a 2020 Toyota Camry – and eventually got to a discussion about the number of entities in the county that are tax exempt.
YORK COUNTY – York County Aging Services Director Lori Byers says her agency has set many events throughout the county where seniors will have the opportunity to get help with their Medicare enrollment.
YORK – York County Sheriff Paul Vrbka says he wants to share a message of gratitude he received, stating how two relatively new deputies with the department went above and beyond the call of duty and their service was instrumental in saving lives.
YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session next Tuesday, Oct. 17, they will be considering the reappointments of members of the county’s planning and zoning board.
YORK COUNTY -- Medicare open enrollment starts Oct. 15 and runs through Dec. 7. York County Aging Services will have SHIP volunteers available to provide unbiased assistance to seniors in reviewing and/or making changes to their Medicare Part D Plan or their Advantage Plan.
YORK – UNL Extension and York County have agreed to renew their agreement to continue the longstanding relationship the two entities have had.
YORK – York County will soon be photographed, from the sky, as it has been for many years for assessment purposes – but this time, it will be done in a new way that will provide high-tech imagery.
YORK – It’s been a long time since the county has signed an actual lease with the York County Ag Society, although the arrangement has existed since the 1940s. Now, the county is drafting an actual agreement with the entity, to better spell out the details for the long-term as well as to revisit some areas of the property that aren’t being used now.
YORK – Two weeks ago, 3 of 5 county commissioners said no to a special liquor license for an event at Wessels Living History Farm. This week, upon another request from the applicant – Derek Keller, Blended Distiller – 3 out of 5 county commissioners said yes.
