YORK – Another person has stepped forward as a candidate seeking the District 5 York County Commissioner seat. Don Mohorn has filed. So far, three people (all Republicans) have filed to run for District 5 York County Commissioner -- Mohorn, Joe Burgess and Dean Heine.
When the Feb. 15 incumbent deadline arrived, Commissioner Jack Sikes had not filed, indicating he would not be seeking re-election. Also filing his candidacy to run for a county commissioner seat -- in District 2 -- has been Nick Wollenburg, seeking to run against current commissioner, LeRoy Ott. Non-incumbents wanting to file their candidacies pertaining to the Primary Election have until March 1 to do so. The following races require filing by the Primary deadline:
