YORK – York County will continue its contract with Regier, Carr & Monroe LLP, a firm in Kansas, for their work on the county’s budget and in doing the county’s audit. York County Commissioner Chairman explained how the county once had a similar contract with Contryman in Aurora with Jill Clay doing the bulk of the work for the firm. When the firm stopped doing this type of work, Clay moved on to the Kansas company and the county has continued working with her.
“Jill has been working with the county on the budget and doing the county’s audit for a number of years now,” Obermier said. “Years ago, we asked for bids from a number of local companies but no one submitted one. It turns out fewer and fewer firms in the state are doing this type of work.” “Her assistance with the budget process has been very beneficial,” said Commissioner Daniel Grotz who sits on the county’s budget committee. “I know previous board members had concerns about one firm doing both the audit and the budget – while valid, it is allowable and I make a motion to continue working with them, noting not many other companies do this work.” The budget work will cost in the arena of $8,000 while the audit will be approximately $18,000. The commissioners unanimously approved the contract and will continue their relationship with Regier, Carr & Monroe LLP for the next fiscal year. Comments are closed.
