YORK COUNTY – The number of properties with noxious weed infestations in York County, during the growing season of 2023, was down, according to Mitch Huxoll, weed superintendent for the county. Huxoll made his annual report to the York County Commissioners this past week, as he prepared to do the same for the state.
“Infestations this last year, well they were down, likely to the very conditions this past summer,” Huxoll said. “Then, fall came and it was dry again.” He said he sent out 10 notices to landowners who needed to take action to get rid of noxious weeds and two notices were sent to landowners “who are habitual in that they do not do a good job of controlling noxious weeds.” Comments are closed.
