McCOOL JUNCTION – The York County Sheriff’s Department says a man was arrested in McCool Junction after allegedly stealing a vehicle and then running from a deputy. According to Sgt. Taylor Samek, on May 28, at 2:29 a.m., “a deputy was conducting a town check in McCool when he observed a vehicle make a traffic violation. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. Shortly after the pursuit was started, the vehicle lost control and entered the ditch near the intersection of Road 3 and First Street in McCool Junction. The driver of the vehicle, Skylar Wiese, 29, of York was taken into custody without further incident.
“A subsequent investigation revealed that Wiese had entered a residence in McCool Junction and had stolen the vehicle he was driving shortly before being contacted by the deputy.” Wiese was lodged at York County Corrections on the following charges: Burglary, theft by receiving stolen property, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and driving during revocation, Sgt.
