Permissive property tax exemptions to be considered by county board

​YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session next Tuesday, Feb. 20, they will consider the annual property tax exemption applications for tax years 2024-2027. 

​They will hear recommendations from the York County Assessor, Kurt Bulgrin, and they will then set a date, time and location for hearing to consider those exemptions.
Property tax exemptions are allowed in situations regarding education, religious, governmental , non-profit situations.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda:

• The board will discuss zoning, particularly in the area of solar fields. The county’s planning/zoning commission has already forwarded on its recommendations after months of conversations. The county commissioners are currently reviewing those recommendations and plan to have a public hearing in March. During Tuesday’s conversations, they will simply discuss how they foresee moving forward . . . and setting a date for that public hearing.
• The board will talk about a resolution regarding employee general extended leave of absence.
• Gary Peterson, the county’s emergency manager, will talk about the process of hazard mitigation.
• A public hearing will be held regarding a conversation easement.

The public is always encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room, located on the main floor of the courthouse, next door to the county clerk’s office.
