Public hearing regarding solar project zoning regulations set for Monday, April 15

YORK COUNTY – A public hearing, before the York County Commissioners, regarding solar project zoning regulations, will be held Monday, April 15. 

​The hearing was already formally published and scheduled for April 15, before the untimely, tragic and sudden death of York County Commissioner Stan Boehr, and it will proceed as scheduled, according to York County Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier.
During this public hearing, comment will be taken from the public regarding the proposed regulations as they stand at this point. Commissioner Obermier said no action will be taken after the public hearing, as was already the intention.
He said the commissioners will meet on Tuesday, April 16, to discuss the next steps of action, but reiterated no action will be taken on April 15 or 16.
The sudden vacancy on the county board creates a new situation regarding this process – but the process is still moving forward and a date for final action to be taken has not yet been decided.

The public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, April 15, at the Holthus Convention Center. The county commissioners will convene for the purpose of discussing the regulations and hearing from the public on the matter.
This long-awaited public hearing comes after months of conversation and regulation writing by the county’s planning and zoning commission, to be followed by weeks of review and revision by the county commissioners themselves.
The public is encouraged to review the most recent version of the proposed regulations and then to attend the hearing on April 15.
