YORK COUNTY – Interested persons in the public are reminded they can attend tonight's (Wednesday) interview session during which someone will be appointed to fulfill the remainder of the 4-year term of county commissioner for District 3. This seat was vacated upon the unexpected death of Commissioner Stan Boehr.
The District 3 term is currently in the second year. The seven people who have submitted their resumes and applications are the following, according to York County Clerk Kelly Turner: Andrew Bowman, Andrew Dunkley, Steve Warren, Brian Bedient, Shannon Graves, Jason Balaban and John Prusia. A panel of the county clerk, county treasurer and county clerk will interview the applicants and later cast their votes as to whom they feel should fulfill the term, per state statutes. Tonight, May 8, starting at 5 p.m., all the applicants will be publicly interviewed by the panel in the York County Commissioners' meeting room, which is located on the main floor of the courthouse, next to the county clerk's office. The panel will then choose the new commissioner and arrangements will be made for that person to be officially sworn in tomorrow morning (Thursday, May 9). That person’s first commissioner meeting will be May 14. Comments are closed.
