YORK COUNTY – Seven people have submitted applications to be considered for the District 3 York County Commissioner seat. The seat was vacated upon the unexpected death of Commissioner Stan Boehr.
Commissioner Boehr’s position is currently in the second year of a four-year term. Whomever is appointed to this position will be expected to fulfill the rest of the term. The people who have submitted their resumes and applications are the following, according York County Clerk Kelly Turner: Andrew Bowman, Andrew Dunkley, Steve Warren, Brian Bedient, Shannon Graves, Jason Balaban and John Prusia. The panel of the county clerk, county treasurer and county clerk will choose the replacement, per state statutes. On May 8, starting at 5 p.m., all the applicants will be publicly interviewed by the panel. The panel will then choose the new commissioner and arrangements will be made for that person to be officially sworn in the following morning.
