YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s Department is warning, this morning, Jan. 12, that “travel is not advised anywhere in York County. The Nebraska Department of Transportation and the York County Roads Department are working hard to clear the roadways, but they are unable to keep up with the blowing snow. Visibility is close to zero in most areas.” The sheriff’s department says further, “most roads have spots where it is completely impassable due to blowing and drifting snow. Please stay home and do not take a chance on the roadways today.”
York County Commissioner Randy Obermier said the York County Courthouse will be closed all day Friday, as will all county offices. It was noted that because next Monday is a holiday, the courthouse will not be open again until Tuesday, Jan. 16. Comments are closed.
