YORK COUNTY -- The York County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Quarter is awarded to a sheriff’s department employee whose conduct over the evaluation period is deserving of recognition. The nomination for this award is primarily based on consistent high performance in job duties, exceeding performance expectations, outstanding customer service, remarkable leadership, or significant contributions to a case or project. The sheriff’s department says the recipient for the first quarter of the year is Criminal Investigator Matt McHale.
“Criminal Investigator McHale is a recent addition to the office and has hit the ground running by providing excellent case work, assistance to other employees and outstanding customer service to the citizens of York County,” says York County Sheriff Paul Vrbka. “During this quarter, Criminal Investigator McHale was detailed to a residential burglary in rural York County where items had been stolen while the homeowners were away on vacation. Over the course of several weeks, Criminal Investigator McHale drafted search warrants, conducted interviews and coordinated with other allied law enforcement agencies concerning the case. Through Criminal Investigator McHale’s diligent investigative efforts two suspects were identified and later arrested in relation to the burglary. “Along with this investigation, Criminal Investigator McHale also regularly assists road patrol deputies with their day-to-day tasks and provides helpful insight to their casework as well. It is not uncommon to hear Criminal Investigator McHale take a call for a colleague or assist with accidents during winter weather even though these tasks are not in his assigned duties. His willingness to assist without being asked has not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated by his co-workers,” Sheriff Vrbka said further. “We are very fortunate to have Criminal Investigator McHale on our staff and look forward to his continued efforts in making York County a safer place.” Comments are closed.
