YORK – Captain Josh Gillespie has been named as the employee of the quarter for the York County Sheriff’s Office.
YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Department is providing tips to help people avoid being scammed, as reports of scam attempts have been escalating locally.
YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s office has released its year-end statistics regarding service calls, arrests, etc., showing many hours of work.
In 2024, deputies conducted 3,763 traffic stops; received 551 traffic complaints; responded to 282 accidents; assisted 318 motorists; served 2,073 civil service papers; provided 4,070 town checks; arrested 80 people for driving under the influence; and made 479 arrests. The total calls for service in 2024: 9,360. YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign between Dec. 11 and Jan. 1. The focus was to reduce impaired driving during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season.
YORK COUNTY – At 4:12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, the York County Sheriff’s Department and first responders from the McCool and York Fire Departments were dispatched to a roll-over accident in the area of Highway 81 and Road 4.
The dispatch is that a vehicle rolled at least twice. The good news is that the two occupants were able to leave the vehicle and were able to get in a vehicle driven by a good Samaritan who stopped at the scene, in order to stay warm. As the winter weather moves into this area, the York County Sheriff’s Department is advising everyone to stay home if they can, as roads are becoming slick and snow is starting to fall. The temperatures are also becoming lower, presenting another layer of danger tonight into tomorrow. YORK COUNTY – York County Sheriff Sergeant Taylor Samek says a Colorado man was found with fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and a knife at a rural York County farm.
YORK COUNTY – Correctional Officer Scott Stream has been named the York County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Quarter.
YORK COUNTY – End-of-month statistics show the York County Sheriff’s Department had a very busy November.
